One of those great sessions when the kit you are on matches up perfectly
with the conditions. Windier than yesterday, and perfectly powered up for
90% of the time on my 4.6. The board and fin as well were just the right
size for the wind/water state, so was really comfortable sailing the kit I
was on hence meaning I could concentrate fully on what I wanted to do.
Generally a good session in terms of performance. Took Tommo's advice of
moving the mast-foot forwards in the track to help me get upwind, and it
seemed to work. Couldn't gybe for toffee on the outside, so stopped trying
after a while and attempted slam gybes instead, but gybes on the inside
were peachy, and was inches away from planing out of a couple. As usual, a
smattering of big jumps were thrown in to the session as well to spice
things up. Also attempted a few body-drags when coming in, with limited
success, but will defo try them again before I leave. Unfortunately the
waves were small/non-existent, so not much chance for wave-riding today, or
for any big vertical jumps on the way out either. But no matter - it didn't
take anything away from the session really.
Great to have an enjoyable session again to restore my faith in windsurfing
after the very disappointing efforts of the last couple of days.
